Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on clinical guidelines.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes in condition to the nursing supervisor or physician immediately.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, post-discharge care, and preventative health strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and social workers.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic health records (EHR).
- Ensure a safe and clean patient environment by adhering to all safety and infection control policies.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in navigating electronic medical record systems.
