Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Health: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on clinical needs and patient preferences.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate seamless patient care transitions.
- Emergency Response: Respond effectively to medical emergencies and code blue situations, demonstrating quick thinking and clinical expertise.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease prevention, medication management, and post-discharge care instructions.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the District of Columbia Board of Nursing.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required; PALS or CEN preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in electronic health record systems.
