Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care by assessing physical and psychological needs, developing individualized care plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with hospital protocols, while monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
- Monitor vital signs and clinical status closely, identifying changes in patient condition and escalating concerns to the charge nurse or provider immediately.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, therapists, and case managers, to ensure holistic patient outcomes.
- Document patient data accurately in electronic health records (EHR) in a timely and thorough manner to maintain continuity of care.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and health maintenance strategies to promote recovery and prevent readmission.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary environment by adhering to infection control standards and hospital safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Active RN License issued by the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification are required at time of hire.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital setting, with preference given to candidates with Med-Surg or ICU experience.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure during critical situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) with flexibility for overtime when needed.
