Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and triage to ensure appropriate care planning.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient conditions continuously and respond immediately to changes in status or emergencies.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and case managers.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Ensure a safe and clean patient environment by adhering to all safety and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred, especially in critical care or med-surg.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; PALS preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations as required.
