As a Weekend Shift Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients during high-volume weekend periods. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the community and are ready to start immediately.
Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Health: Conduct thorough physical assessments and monitor patient conditions to identify changes or potential health risks.
- Administer Care: Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, wound care, and vital signs monitoring.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring all documentation complies with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to medical emergencies and critical situations within the unit.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and disease management.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit rounds to ensure high standards of care.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred, with specific experience in a hospital setting.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Friday through Sunday) on a rotating or fixed schedule.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills and ability to navigate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
