We are seeking a skilled professional to ensure continuity of care for our patients during critical weekend hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and monitoring during weekends, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document patient care activities, changes in condition, and interventions accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Respond promptly to patient emergencies and critical situations with composure and clinical expertise.
- Assist in patient education and discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions of care.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the District of Columbia.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) as scheduled.
