Responsibilities
- Assess patient health needs, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical condition, identifying changes in status and intervening as necessary.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, continuous care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records, assessments, and interventions.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and code blue alerts.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Illinois.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care standards.
