Responsibilities
- Assess patient health needs, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians according to strict protocols and regulations.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes or abnormalities immediately to the charge nurse or physician.
- Provide patient education and instruction regarding disease processes, medications, and home care procedures.
- Document all patient care activities, including assessments, interventions, and responses, accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and social workers to ensure holistic patient care.
- Respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively, following hospital emergency protocols.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting (preferred).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient advocacy and safety.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
