Responsibilities
- Provide direct, high-quality patient care and conduct thorough patient assessments.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established medical protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and critical situations within the unit.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for certain units.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is a plus.
