Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end medical billing process, including claims submission and timely follow-up.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits to prevent claim denials.
- Review and correct claim errors to ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce rejections.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase billing efficiency and reduce accounts receivable days.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or a related healthcare administration role.
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Proficiency with medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, or equivalent).
- Excellent analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for resolving complex billing issues.
