Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications according to state and federal laws.
- Prescription Processing: Verify prescriptions, enter patient data into the pharmacy management system, and manage refill requests efficiently.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage expiration dates to ensure timely replenishment.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients and healthcare providers in a professional manner, answering questions and providing medication counseling where necessary.
- Quality Assurance: Assist the pharmacist in conducting quality control checks and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program is a plus.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with computer systems.
- Compliance: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
