Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and microcollection procedures following CLIA/HIPAA protocols
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Operate centrifuges, analyzers, and point-of-care testing equipment
- Document patient information and test results in electronic health records
- Collaborate with lab teams to ensure timely specimen transport
- Maintain sterile work environments and infection control standards
- Provide patient education on blood draw procedures
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP/ASPT or equivalent)
- 1+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid Texas state phlebotomy license
- Proficiency in LIS/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Excellent venipuncture skills with pediatric and geriatric populations
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently during remote shifts
- OSHA bloodborne pathogen certification
