Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile surgical environments and equipment virtually via tele-monitoring systems
- Assist surgeons during procedures through on-site rotations in Durham facilities
- Maintain accurate electronic surgical documentation using EHR systems
- Coordinate with hospital staff to ensure seamless instrument availability
- Participate in virtual quality assurance reviews and compliance audits
- Provide remote surgical equipment troubleshooting support
- Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in scrub tech role
- Proficiency with EHR systems and telehealth technologies
- Ability to travel to Durham facilities 2-3 days weekly
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- BLS certification with current renewal date
- Exceptional communication and virtual collaboration skills
- Ability to troubleshoot surgical equipment remotely
