Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough telephone and video triage assessments to determine patient urgency and appropriate care pathways
- Utilize evidence-based clinical protocols to provide accurate medical advice and interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions and continuity of care
- Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) with precise documentation and critical incident reporting
- Delicate crisis management for emergent cases, coordinating with emergency services when necessary
- Provide health education to patients regarding symptom management and preventive care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia (or compact state)
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience in emergency, urgent care, or telehealth nursing
- BLS/ACLS certification with current credentials
- Proven expertise in telephone triage protocols (e.g., Triage Scale, ESI)
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to de-escalate anxious patients
- Proficiency with EHR systems and telehealth platforms (e.g., Teladoc, Amwell)
- Strong critical thinking and sound clinical judgment abilities
