Position Overview:
The Remote Medical Assistant will provide essential administrative and clinical support to healthcare providers from a remote location. You will be responsible for managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and assisting with telehealth services. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers with administrative tasks, including scheduling, patient intake, and record management
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
- Provide telehealth support to patients, including answering questions and coordinating care
- Handle billing and coding tasks remotely, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers via phone, email, and secure messaging platforms
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times
- Assist in preparing medical reports and correspondence as needed
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant, with at least 1 year of experience in a clinical or administrative setting
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work remotely and independently
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
