Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits for proper reimbursement
- Resubmit denied claims with compelling appeal documentation
- Conduct thorough account receivables follow-up and aging analysis
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards
- Collaborate with providers to resolve billing discrepancies
- Generate monthly revenue cycle performance reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in Epic, Medisoft, or similar EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of CCI edits, NCCI edits, and bundling rules
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Proven track record of reducing claim denials by 25%+
