Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 98% accuracy
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and appeals within 5 business days
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and Alaska state regulations
- Collaborate with providers to document services accurately
- Generate monthly revenue cycle reports for leadership
- Train on new billing software and regulatory updates
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience (remote preferred)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Proficient with Epic, Medisoft, or similar EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of Alaska Medicaid and commercial insurance policies
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error tolerance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
