Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Submit clean claims to insurance carriers and government payers
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Appeal denied claims with supporting documentation
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for billing operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical coding and billing software (Epic, NextGen)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with remote work tools and systems
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
