Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance payers using NextGen or AdvancedMD software.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services rendered.
- Analyze denied or rejected claims and appeal them within the designated timeframe to maximize revenue.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve outstanding balances professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and generate financial reports.
- Stay updated on healthcare regulations, coding updates, and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CPC, CMA, or RHIT is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
