Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on claim denials
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Maintain detailed patient billing records and documentation
- Resolve billing discrepancies through coordination with providers and payers
- Analyze billing reports to identify revenue optimization opportunities
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Familiarity with billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, NextGen)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
