Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient insurance information, eligibility, and authorization requirements.
- Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Submit claims to commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare payers electronically and manually.
- Monitor claim status, follow up on unpaid claims, and appeal denials efficiently.
- Manage patient invoicing, financial statements, and collections processes.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and company data security policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, medical coding, or revenue cycle management.
- CPC, COC, or RHIT certification is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, or Cerner).
- Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding sets.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work effectively in a remote setting.
- Strong communication skills for patient interaction.
