Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments via telephone or in-person triage to evaluate symptoms and determine the urgency of care.
- Document patient medical history, current medications, and vital signs accurately into Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Provide immediate medical advice and instructions based on established clinical protocols and triage guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians and care coordinators to facilitate appropriate referrals and follow-up care.
- Prioritize incoming calls to ensure critical cases are addressed immediately.
- Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor when interacting with patients and families.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of New Jersey.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (No prior triage experience required).
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure.
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn EHR software.
