Responsibilities
- Accurately code and bill medical services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Manage claim submission, denial resolution, and AR follow-up
- Conduct audits to ensure billing accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services and resolve coding discrepancies
- Optimize revenue cycle processes through data analysis and workflow improvements
- Train junior billing staff on best practices and compliance standards
- Stay current with evolving healthcare policies and payer requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with 80%+ clean claim rate
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credentials required
- Expert knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial payer guidelines
- Proficient in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Proven track record of reducing A/R days and improving cash flow
