Responsibilities
- Accurately code and bill medical procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Manage insurance claim submission and follow-up with payers
- Resolve claim denials and discrepancies through appeals processes
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation
- Generate monthly financial reports for department leadership
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient financial data
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital or large clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance policies
- Proficiency in Epic, Athenahealth, or similar EHR systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with denial analysis and appeals management
