Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance providers and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits coverage
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through effective follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document accurate coding and billing information
- Generate monthly billing reports and analyze key performance metrics
- Train and mentor junior billing staff on best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with private and government payers
- Certification in CPC, COC, or CCS (preferred)
- Proficiency in Epic, Cerner, or NextGen billing systems
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Strong analytical skills for claim resolution and denial management
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
