Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers
- Resolve claim denials and account receivables within 30-day SLA
- Conduct thorough audits of charge captures and coding accuracy
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services for proper reimbursement
- Stay current with HIPAA compliance and payer policy changes
- Generate monthly aging reports and denial analysis for leadership
- Train junior billers on billing software and best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with RCM systems
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR platforms
- Strong analytical skills for resolving complex claim discrepancies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Texas Medicaid/Medicare programs preferred
- Ability to maintain 98% claim accuracy rate
