Responsibilities
- Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Manage insurance claim submission and follow-up for complex cases
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denials with insurance carriers
- Conduct regular audits of patient accounts and billing documentation
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Train junior billing staff on coding best practices
- Generate monthly revenue cycle performance reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial insurance
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expert knowledge of EHR systems (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Strong analytical skills for claim resolution
- Exceptional communication for payer negotiations
- Detail-oriented with 99% accuracy in coding
- Experience with Minnesota Medicaid programs
