Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Manage complex insurance claim submissions and follow-ups for optimal reimbursement
- Conduct thorough audits to ensure compliance with HIPAA and CMS regulations
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denials through strategic appeals and documentation
- Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify coding ambiguities and ensure documentation accuracy
- Generate monthly financial reports and analyze revenue cycle performance metrics
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to strict data security protocols
Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing experience with proven track record of high reimbursement rates
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) credential
- Expertise in Epic, Athenahealth, or advanced EHR billing modules
- Deep knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance regulations
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail for complex coding scenarios
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools
