Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications following established protocols
- Manage inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation to optimize pharmacy operations
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems efficiently
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and potential side effects
- Maintain precise records in compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and state board regulations
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve prescription discrepancies
Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician license required
- Prior experience in hospital or retail pharmacy setting preferred
- Certification through PTCB or ExCPT strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient interactions and team collaboration
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Background check and drug screen clearance required
