Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications with precision, including sterile compounding and IV admixtures
- Verify prescription accuracy and counsel patients on medication usage under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, ordering, and proper storage of controlled substances
- Utilize advanced pharmacy software for electronic prescriptions and insurance processing
- Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations (DEA, HIPAA)
- Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices and safety protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy management
Qualifications
- Active Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license with at least 3 years of experience
- Certification through PTCB (CPhT) or ExCPT
- Proven expertise in sterile compounding and IV preparation
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and medication safety protocols
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in high-pressure environments
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
