Responsibilities
- Compound and dispense medications with precision and accuracy
- Verify prescription orders and maintain inventory control systems
- Collaborate with pharmacists on sterile compounding and IV admixtures
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Utilize automated dispensing systems efficiently
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license
- Minimum 3 years hospital pharmacy experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
- Experience with Epic EMR and Pyxis systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
