Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, verify, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage automated dispensing systems and maintain real-time inventory controls
- Process insurance claims and patient assistance program documentation
- Conduct sterile compounding of IV medications and chemotherapy preparations
- Provide medication counseling to patients with clear, empathetic communication
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records and prescription databases
- Train junior technicians on pharmacy protocols and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Active PTCB or ExCPT certification with minimum 3 years experience
- Illinois Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
- Proven expertise in sterile compounding and USP 797 compliance
- Advanced proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-medication-error track record
- Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations
- CPR/BLS certification from accredited provider
- Associates degree in Pharmacy Technology or related field preferred
