Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control systems and compounding workflows
- Verify prescription orders for completeness and accuracy
- Operate automated dispensing systems and IV admixture equipment
- Maintain sterile compounding environments per USP 797 standards
- Provide medication counseling to patients and healthcare staff
- Document all pharmacy activities in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Mentor junior technicians on best practices and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active PTCB certification (CPhT) required
- Minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, Cerner)
- Knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid District of Columbia pharmacy technician license
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
