Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications following strict protocols
- Manage inventory control and pharmaceutical supply chain logistics
- Operate automated dispensing systems and compound specialized medications
- Provide exceptional patient consultation on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records and documentation
- Collaborate with pharmacists on medication therapy management programs
- Train junior technicians on standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- Active New York State Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years of hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and USP 797 standards
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment
- CPR certification and immunization training preferred
