Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications with zero-error tolerance
- Manage inventory control systems and compounding operations
- Coordinate with pharmacists on patient medication therapy management
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Implement sterile preparation protocols for IV medications
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on medication safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB/ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years hospital or specialty pharmacy experience
- Advanced compounding and sterile preparation skills
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Basic understanding of insurance billing processes
