Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify orders under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation of pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records with HIPAA compliance
- Provide exceptional patient education on medication usage and potential side effects
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy management software
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care outcomes
- Maintain strict adherence to FDA and California Board of Pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (CPhT)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Certified in sterile compounding (ASHP preferred)
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy software (QS1, Omnicell, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail with zero-error medication handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Basic IV certification (or willingness to obtain)
