Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications following sterile compounding protocols
- Verify prescription orders for completeness and accuracy before dispensing
- Manage inventory control systems including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Provide medication counseling to patients and healthcare staff
- Maintain compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software for order entry and record maintenance
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize medication therapy management
Qualifications
- Active Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential strongly preferred
- Proficient in pharmacy management systems (e.g., Omnicell, Epic)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
