Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Verify prescription orders for completeness and accuracy
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Provide exceptional patient consultations on medication usage
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications
- Utilize pharmacy software for documentation and billing
- Train junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Ensure compliance with DEA, FDA, and state pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years of hospital/specialty pharmacy experience
- Clean background check and current CPR certification
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong mathematical skills for dosage calculations
- Exceptional communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Knowledge of sterile compounding (USP 797 preferred)
