Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures
- Process and transport specimens to maintain integrity for advanced testing protocols
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Document patient data with HIPAA-compliant electronic health records systems
- Train junior staff on phlebotomy best practices and safety protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and lab technologists on specimen quality assurance
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience in high-volume settings
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-access vein protocols
- OSHA and CLIA compliance certification preferred
- Advanced knowledge of specimen handling for molecular testing
- CPR certification and BLS certification
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills
