Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood collections on diverse patient populations
- Process and transport specimens with strict adherence to CLIA and OSHA protocolsMaintain accurate electronic health records and specimen tracking systems
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on advanced techniques
- Implement quality control measures for specimen handling and processing
- Collaborate with laboratory teams for urgent STAT testing protocols
- Conduct point-of-care testing with precision and efficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Proven experience with pediatric, geriatric, and difficult venipuncture cases
- Expertise in electronic health record systems (Epic/EMR preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume outpatient settings
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team coordination
