Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to strict laboratory protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Train junior phlebotomists on advanced techniques and safety procedures
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality standards
- Collaborate with medical staff to optimize patient flow and efficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience in a high-volume setting
- Current Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification
- BLS/CPR certification from a recognized provider
- Proven ability to handle difficult veins and pediatric draws
- Strong knowledge of OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Experience with LIS systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred
