Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis ensuring chain-of-custody protocols
- Train junior phlebotomists on advanced techniques and patient interaction best practices
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
- Operate automated blood collection systems and point-of-care testing devices
- Collaborate with physicians and lab staff to optimize patient workflows
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience in a high-volume clinical setting
- Certification from ASCP, NHA, or equivalent phlebotomy credentialing body
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-access venipuncture
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Exceptional patient communication and crisis management skills
- Experience with LIS systems and electronic health records
