Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures with precision
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory facilities following strict protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in HIPAA-compliant systems
- Train junior phlebotomy staff on advanced techniques and safety procedures
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with physicians and lab personnel to resolve specimen collection issues
- Implement infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification (PTC)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- Proven expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult vein access
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- BLS/CPR certification
- Exceptional patient communication and bedside manner skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
