Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to strict laboratory protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA regulations
- Train junior phlebotomy staff on advanced techniques
- Collaborate with laboratory and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Implement infection control procedures in all specimen handling
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification (PTC)
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Proven track record in high-volume medical settings
- Advanced knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen processing
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for diverse patient populations
- Experience with LIS systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
