Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood draws with minimal discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to strict HIPAA and CLIA protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation
- Train junior staff on advanced phlebotomy techniques
- Operate automated analyzers and troubleshoot technical issues
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Certification from ASCP, AMT, or NHA required
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-access collections
- Strong knowledge of anatomical landmarks and vein assessment
- Proficient in LIS/HIS systems and specimen processing
- Excellent communication and patient advocacy skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting
