Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and processing of blood specimens according to HIPAA protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records using our advanced EHR system
- Train junior phlebotomists on best practices and safety procedures
- Collaborate with lab technologists and healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
- Implement infection control standards and maintain sterile work environments
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and process optimization
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification
- 3+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced environment
- Proven expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult vein access procedures
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Exceptional patient communication skills with diverse populations
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in team settings
- Basic computer proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Valid CPR certification
