Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments according to procedure protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce strict aseptic techniques
- Count and document surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before and after procedures
- Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment including endoscopic cameras and robotic systems
- Assist with patient positioning and draping in collaboration with the surgical team
- Manage sterile processing and sterilization of equipment following OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in general surgery or specialty area
- Current BLS/CPR certification and state surgical tech license
- Proficiency in sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and on-call rotations
