Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood draws with 99.5% accuracy
- Process and analyze specimens using advanced diagnostic equipment
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols
- Train junior phlebotomists on advanced techniques
- Implement quality control procedures for sample integrity
- Collaborate with physicians on specialized collection protocols
- Document procedures in electronic health records system
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- 3+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Current ASCP or NCCT certification
- Phlebotomy Specialist or similar advanced credential
- Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-vein populations
- Proficiency in LIS/HIS systems (Epic preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification
- Associates degree in Medical Technology or related field
- Exceptional interpersonal and patient communication skills
