Responsibilities
- Perform high-volume venipunctures and capillary draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and laboratory safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure accurate specimen processing, labeling, and transport.
- Manage patient interactions professionally, explaining procedures clearly and addressing concerns with empathy.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Certified Phlebotomist (CP) certification required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of recent experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and advanced blood collection techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods as required.
