Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood draws with minimal discomfort
- Process and prepare specimens for advanced laboratory testing
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols
- Train junior phlebotomists on best practices and equipment
- Collaborate with laboratory scientists on specimen integrity protocols
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Operate automated blood processing systems and quality control equipment
Qualifications
- 3+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Current Washington Phlebotomy Technician certification
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Experience with pediatric and geriatric patient populations
- Proficiency in LIS (Laboratory Information Systems)
- Exceptional venipuncture skills in difficult draw scenarios
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
